The Power of Giving Back

At Boring Business Systems, our mission is to help businesses succeed so communities prosper. But accomplishing the first does not mean leaving the second to chance. Instead, action is key. Through volunteerism, community leadership and fundraising, Boring encourages all employees to get involved and make a difference in the lives of others. As leaders in our community, it’s our responsibility to give back and support the growth of Polk County.

Being Green in Polk County

Boring was a sponsor for the Lake Mirror Green Celebration in Lakeland. During the event, employees gave out free samples of “green” office supplies, including 100% recycled pen and paper pad sets.

Boring received a Beautification Award for Commercial Landscaping from the City of Lakeland’s Beautification Board.

United Way

Although we support many charitable organizations in Polk County, the United Way holds a special place with us. We have an employee giving program that over 95% of our staff participates in. In 2019, our employees gave over $10,000 to the United Way of Central Florida, supporting education, health, and economic initiatives in our community.

Parker Street Ministries

As part of our 90th Anniversary celebration, we held a Printer Smash event to benefit Parker Street Ministries. We brought out some old, defunct machines from our warehouse and let people go at them with the weapon of their choice — and it was all for a good cause! We raised $1000 through this event to donate to Parker Street, a charity that is working hard to revitalize the Parker Street neighborhood here in Lakeland.

Food, Toy, & Supply Drives

Every holiday season, Boring selects a charity to be the recipient of an employee food, toy, or supply drive. Past beneficiaries include VISTE and the Salvation Army.

Equipment Donations

Boring often has used copiers, printers, scanners, and fax machines on hand that can be donated to qualifying nonprofits in the Lakeland area.
